It is autumn in Amsterdam.

A man with a cold soul who smells of gun powder and a man as warm as the sunshine meet a very special woman…

The woman is Hye-young (starring Jeon Ji-hyun), a young Korean artist who paints portraits in the city square, while dreaming of one day holding a solo exhibition of her works. She is a stranger in this city, and Hye-young’s only source of strength is the memory of her first love.

Then she meets a new man - well, almost meets him, she never really sees his face but after giving him a drawing of a daisy, he responds by having a pot of daisies delivered to her door every day. Could this be the start of a new love for the lonely young artist? At the same time, however, a second man enters Hye-young’s life, a stranger who keeps coming to her, asking her to draw his portrait.

That man she has been drawing is Jung-woo (starring Lee Sung-jae), an international agent based in Amsterdam. He first approached Hye-young, while in the line of duty, but was immediately mesmerized by her charms and beauty. She quickly assumed that he was the one giving her daisies and begins to fall for him. Jung-woo knows that he is not the one in Hye-young’s heart, but he feels he must remain quiet about the truth or lose her love forever.

Park Yi (starring Jung Woo-sung) is really the one giving her flowers, the man Hye-young has been waiting for. He is forced to watch painfully as Hye-young and Jung-woo nurtured their love, unable to intervene - being an assassin, Yi is forbidden to have emotions and weaknesses such as love. Yi knows the rules for people with a terrible calling such as his, but he can’t seem to forget this amazing love…

Finally, destiny brings all of their paths together, when Yi gets his next assignment for assassination - and discovers it is Jung-woo...

An European destination - The Netherlands - as the beautiful backdrop for this joint Korean-Hong Kong prodcution. And as always, great photography of the country as shown in the movie, almost perfectly shot, all thanks to the photography crew.

Daisy - the tragic love story about love and guns... and of course, daisies. Director Andrew Lau certainly is the man for this movie, after his critically acclaimed "Infernal Affairs". If you are expecting 'Daisy' to be filled with gunshot scenes, triads and undercovercops, then perhaps you'll be very disappointed.

Apart from the scene of shoot-out that occurs in the city square between gang members, Park Yi and Jung-Woo, where Hye-Young gets shot in the crossfire, that's as much action as you can get from 'Daisy'. The only other shooting scene comes at the end, where Park Yi 'cleans' out his boss (starring Simon Yam) and the company.

However, the balance between action, love, and features of beautiful Netherlands is indeed a job well-done. The actors and actresses have also put up an impressive performance. Jun Ji Hyun, famous for her role in 'My Sassy Girl' and 'Windstruck', the character she plays in 'Daisy' (Hye-Young) is nothing like what everyone has been used to seeing in these two movies. Here she plays a rather shy, introvert artist, who awaits for true love.

'Daisy' is indeed a touching story... with a great director, artiste *handsome and beautiful too*, backdrop, and of course, a wonderfully composed soundtrack, 'Daisy' is a movie that I strongly recommend to everyone! 4 out of 5 star! *haha*
