Finally I got a chance to catch a movie.... because lessons were cancelled, a supposedly 2 hour lecture became 1 hour, and surprisingly, I had no project meetings. So finally, I caught Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest.

Won't be doing much of a movie review. Not enough time to go into too much details. Haha. If you loved The Black Pearl as much as I did, I'm sure you'll love Dead Man's Chest too. The success of the first movie Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl was a surprising one. Unlike many block busters and great movies, the launch of the The Black Pearl was like any ordinary movie; but it soon became a block buster to everyone's surprise. Indeed.. Johnny Depp's performance was a certainly top-notch, carving a name for Captain Jack Sparrow.

And once again, Johnny Depp does it again *lovin' him!* His performance as Captain Jack Sparrow is convincingly amazing, which brings the whole movie life and spirit. The special effects of the whole movie was uncanningly realistic, especially on the character played by Bill Nighy, Captain Davey Jones. Oh the squid! You could actually feel the tentacles caressing your skin, with its slime all over you. *shivers* And not to mention that bulk of thing behind his neck... Seriously, this is indeed my first time seeing a squid so upclose and enlarged.

As for the other characters, Keira Knightely and Orlando Bloom were of above average performance. Surely it isn't easy at all to be outstanding beside Johnny Depp... he's one amazing actor! Orlando Bloom did come about a little... stiff. But hey, with his sexy good looks, he pulls off almost anything.

But if you are expecting the movie to revolve and feature Captain Jack Sparrow, then there'll be some disappointment... I wished there was more Johnny Depp! Haha.

Alrights. One more thing to note about Pirates.. Take from the TODAY newspapers...

THE Singapore-Pirates of the Caribbean connection will culminate in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, the third instalment in the trilogy that is due next year. Singapore was first mentioned in the Curse of the Black Pearl. In Dead Man’s Chest, out now in cinemas here, a pirate tells Will Turner: “Jack Sparrow turned up in Singapore!”

Well, it turns out he really will be in Singapore in part three. Not physically – despite rumours that the openingsequence would be filmed here. Instead, Singapore will be recreated on set, with Chow Yun Fat in the cast. The August issue of Empire magazine, which caught a glimpse of the filming of At World’s End, offered a sneak peek of what’s to come: “We are in Singapore circa 1720, there is a stone quay, fungally afflicted bathhouse, and ahive of bridges, walkways and shacks built over a vast tank of murky water ... The home of Captain Sao Feng, king of the Singapore pirates, as played with a full throttle flam-boyance near as madcap as Sparrow’s by Chow Yun Fat.”

Buena Vista International, which distributes the Pirates movies in Singapore, confirmed the Singapore link. “Singapore will figure in the storyline of Pirates 3 but it is not being filmed nor were there sequences filmed here,” said a spokesperson.

I just can't wait for Pirates 3. Johnny Depp! Orlando Bloom! And soon.. Chow Yuan Fatt!! HOOooooo..... I just can't wait. Haha.
